Installs and works great IF your Mac meets minimum requirements. But its not perfect, even though its super addictive. Best advice for newbies: Turn off Auto-Save before you start playing! Otherwise youll end up auto-saving mistakes. Limitations are everywhere and itll take awhile to figure out their nuances. Examples: Many buildings can only face in one direction, so youll need to plan ahead to make sure the front is facing the way you visualized before you plant it and have already spent your Simoleans. Ensure that building add-on "modules" will fit... dont plant too close to a hill or the edge or youll have no room for the add-ons later. Youll figure it out, but TURN OFF AUTO-SAVE.
Other weirdness thatll drive you nuts: The Sims themselves are quite stupid; if theres a fire, the firetruck will wait in traffic to get to it. Warning messages arent always right. For example, if you were buying power from another city, and later build your own power plant, you dont need power from the first city anymore. The warning message just says youre gonna run out of power soon since youre not buying it now. The multi-city view is Asphyxs biggest flaw... names of other cities are cut off, the zoom is wonky, and not every tradable resource is viewable; you can buy power, water, and sewage treatment, but you cant buy services like firetrucks, cops, or ambulances. So you have to toggle to the other city and sell it. Single player game shouldnt have these blocks.
It is super fun, however, and I recommend it to OCD landscaping addicts everywhere. But be prepared for the problems because they will drive some people more crazy than others.
